1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy the brother,
2 to the saints and faithful brethren in Christ at Colossae: Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father.
3 We give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,
4 since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints,
5 on account of the hope which is laid up for you in the heavens, of which ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel,
6 which is come to you, as it is in all the world, and is bearing fruit and growing, as it doth also in you, from the day ye heard it, and knew the grace of God in truth;
7 even as ye learned from Epaphras our beloved fellowservant, who is a faithful minister of Christ on your behalf;
8 who also brought to our knowledge your love in the Spirit.
9 On this account we also, from the day we heard of it, cease not to pray for you, and to ask that ye may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
10 that ye may walk worthily of the Lord so as to please him in all things, bearing fruit in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
11 endued with all power according to the might of his glory unto all patience and longsuffering with joy;
12 giving thanks to the Father, who enabled us to share in the inheritance of the saints in the light;
13 who rescued us from the empire of darkness, and transferred us into the kingdom of his beloved Son;
14 in whom we have our redemption, the forgiveness of our sins;
15 who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of the whole creation;
16 for in him were created all things, those in the heavens, and those on the earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers, all things have been created through him and for him;
17 and he is before all things, and in him all things subsist.
18 And he is the head of the body, the church; since he is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that he may be in all things preeminent;
19 for God was pleased that in him all the fullness should dwell, and by him to reconcile all things to himself,
20 having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him, I say, whether the things on earth, or those in the heavens.
21 And you, that were once alienated, and enemies in your mind in wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled
22 in the body of his flesh through his death, to present you holy and blameless and irreproachable in his sight;
23 if ye indeed continue in the faith grounded and settled, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye heard, which hath been preached in the whole creation under heaven; of which I Paul became a minister.
24 Now I rejoice in my sufferings for you, and fill up instead that which is wanting of the afflictions of Christ in my flesh on behalf of his body, which is the church;
25 of which I became a minister, according to the stewardship which God entrusted to me, for you, to fulfill the word of God,
26 the mystery which hath been hidden for ages and generations, but hath been now revealed to his saints;
27 to whom it was the will of God to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory;
28 whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ;
29 to which end I also am laboring, striving earnestly through his working, which worketh within me mightily.

Colossians 1:1-29
1 John 2:1-29
1 My children, these things I write to you, that ye may not sin. And if any one have sinned, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.
2 And he is a propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for the whole world.
3 And hereby we know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
5 But whoever keepeth his word, truly in him is the love of God perfected. Hereby we know that we are in him.
6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
7 Beloved, I write no new commandment to you, but an old commandment, which ye have had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard.
8 Again, a new commandment I write to you, which thing is true in him, and in you; because the darkness is passing away, and the true light now shineth.
9 He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in the darkness until now.
10 He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is no occasion of stumbling in him;
11 but he that hateth his brother is in the darkness, and walketh in the darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because the darkness hath blinded his eyes.
12 I write to you, my children, because your sins have been forgiven you for his names sake.
13 I write to you, fathers, because ye know him that was from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because ye have overcome the Evil One. I have written to you, my children, because ye know the Father.
14 I have written to you, fathers, because ye know him that was from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because ye are strong, and the word of God abideth in you, and ye have overcome the Evil One.
15 Love not the world, nor the things in the world. If any one loveth the world, the love of the Father is not in him;
16 because all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
17 And the world is passing away, and the lust thereof; but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
18 My children, the last time is come; and as ye have heard that Antichrist is coming, even now there are many antichrists; whereby we know that the last time is come.
19 They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they are not all of us.
20 And ye have an anointing from the Holy One, and know all things.
21 I have not written to you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.
22 Who is the liar, but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, who denieth the Father and the Son.
23 Whoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father; he that acknowledgeth the Son hath also the Father.
24 As for you, let that which ye have heard from the beginning abide in you. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall abide in you, ye also will abide in the Son, and in the Father.
25 And this is the promise which he himself promised us, even the life everlasting.
26 These things I have written to you concerning those who seduce you.
27 And the anointing which ye yourselves received from him abideth in you, and ye have no need that any one teach you; but as his anointing teacheth you concerning all things, and is truth, and is not a lie, even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
28 And now, my children, abide in him; that when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.
29 If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one also that doeth righteousness hath been born of him.
1 Timothy 2:1-15
1 I exhort then, first of all, that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men;
2 for kings, and all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and tranquil life in all godliness and propriety.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour,
4 whose will is that all men should be saved, and come to the knowledge of the truth.
5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,
6 who gave himself a ransom for all; to which the testimony was to be borne in its own due times,
7 whereunto I was appointed a herald and an apostle, (I speak the truth, I lie not,) a teacher of the gentiles in faith and truth.
8 I desire, then, that the men pray in every place, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
9 In like manner also, that women, in seemly attire, adorn themselves with modesty and sobriety, not with braided hair, and gold, or pearls, or costly apparel;
10 but, as becometh women professing godliness, with good works.
11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
12 But I suffer not the woman to teach, nor to have authority over the man, but to be in silence.
13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
14 And Adam was not deceived; but the woman being deceived fell into transgression.
15 But she will be saved through childbearing, if they continue in faith, and love, and holiness, with sobriety.
James 1:1-27
1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.
2 Count it all joy, my brethren, when ye fall into various temptations;
3 knowing that the trying of your faith worketh endurance.
4 But let endurance have a perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting in nothing.
5 But if any one of you is wanting in wisdom, let him ask of God, who giveth to all liberally, and upbraideth not; and it will be given him.
6 But let him ask in faith, nothing doubting; for he that doubteth is like a wave of the sea driven by the wind and tossed.
7 For let not that man think that he shall receive anything from the Lord,
8 a doubleminded man as he is, unstable in all his ways.
9 Let the brother of low degree glory in that he is exalted;
10 but the rich, in that he is made low; because as the flower of the grass he will pass away.
11 For the sun rose with its burning heat, and withered the grass, and its flower fell off, and the beauty of its appearance perished; so also will the rich man fade away in his ways.
12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation; for when he is approved, he will receive the crown of life, which He promised to them that love him.
13 Let no one when he is tempted, say, I am tempted by God; for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he tempteth no one.
14 But each one is tempted when by his own lust he is led away and enticed;
15 then lust, having conceived, bringeth forth sin, and sin, when completed, bringeth forth death.
16 Do not err, my beloved brethren.
17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the lights, with whom is no change, nor shadow from turning.
18 Of his own will he begot us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.
20 For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.
21 Wherefore put off all filthiness, and excess of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.
23 For if any one is a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like a man beholding his natural face in a glass;
24 for he beholds himself, and goes away, and immediately forgets what manner of man he was.
25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty, and remains there, being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man will be blessed in his deed.
26 If any one thinks that he is religious, and bridles not his tongue, but deceives his own heart, this mans religion is vain.
27 Pure religion and undefiled before God, the Father, is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep ones self unspotted from the world.
1 Peter 2:1-25
1 Laying aside therefore all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all slander,
2 as newborn babes, desire the spiritual, pure milk, that ye may grow thereby to salvation;
3 if indeed ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.
4 To whom coming, a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but in the sight of God chosen, honored,
5 be ye yourselves also, as living stones, built up, a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
6 Because it is contained in the Scripture: "Behold, I lay in Zion a chief cornerstone, chosen, honored; and he that believeth in him shall not be put to shame."
7 To you therefore who believe, is the honor; but to the disobedient, "the stone which the builders rejected, the same hath become the cornerstone,"
8 and "a stone of stumbling, and a rock to strike against;" even to those who stumble, being disobedient to the word; to which they were also appointed.
9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for a possession, that ye may show forth the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light;
10 who once were not a people, but are now the people of God; who had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
11 Beloved, I exhort you, as sojourners and strangers, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
12 having your manner of life among the gentiles honorable; that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.
13 Submit yourselves therefore to every human institution for the Lords sake; whether to the king, as supreme;
14 or to governors, as being sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and the praise of those who do well.
15 For so is the will of God, that with welldoing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men;
16 as free, and not using your freedom for a cloak of wickedness, but as servants of God.
17 Honor all men; love the brotherhood; fear God; honor the king.
18 Servants, be subject to your masters with all fear, not only to the good and considerate, but also to the perverse.
19 For this is acceptable, if any one on account of a sense of duty to God endureth hardships, suffering wrongfully.
20 For what glory is it, if, when ye are beaten for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently [it is glory]; for this is acceptable with God.
21 For to this ye were called; because even Christ suffered for us, leaving you an example, that ye should follow his steps;
22 who committed no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth;
23 who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered did not threaten, but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously;
24 who himself bore our sins in his own body on the cross, that we, having died to our sins, should live to righteousness; by whose stripes ye were healed.
25 For ye were going astray like sheep; but ye have now returned to the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
